Yet Another Microsoft F*ck Up…

Microsoft just failed basic math.

Microsoft 365 w/Storage

They seriously nerf’d storage for their Microsoft 365 Family plans… What used to be 1TB per person, for up to 6 persons, it’ll now be 2TB shared across everyone, on the “pretext” that it’s “less restrictive”, and that “those that don’t use the full 1TB” can now have their supposed allotment “shared out” to the others… Where’s my other 4TB, b*tch?

No More Questions!

Their FAQ is a wild, not answering their own question of “is this a reduction?” (Hint to the should-be-fired-FAQ-writer: Answer the damn question with “No shit, Sherlock!”)…

Bye Bye, Microsoft!

I believe this is a misstep…

Microsoft already lost the “office suite” war amongst the new generation (i.e. current Polytechnic, undergraduates), so we can safely ignore the “Office Productivity applications” that come with Microsoft 365… Most of my family is better used to Docs, Slides and Sheets than the unwieldy (albeit arguably more powerful) full-fat full-blown obesity Microsoft desktop apps.

I run my family’s accounts and likewise recommend many others to Microsoft 365 family exactly for the storage, particularly with OneDrive on mobiles backing up photos and videos regardless if Android or Apple (and particularly after Google stopped their “free unlimited storage for Pixel devices”)…

Before this came out, I was already thinking about adding a Google AI Pro plan, more for the Gemini than for the shared 5TB…

Coupled with Microsoft’s own stupidity in nerfing Outlook for “free” Hotmail.com and Outlook.com accounts (with no reason other than $$$), my own family’s increase in utilisation of Google Calendars on mobile devices, and therefore ignoring Outlook’s personal or shared calendars (which were useful only when Outlook itself was running, since no sane company, much less family, would run Exchange), I am now moving everyone to Google’s plans, since we’re all on Android anyway (see also, F*ck Apple, if you are wondering “why not iPhones”)…
